To produce our organic candied orange peel, the peel is cut into cubes, processed with steam and drained. Corn starch syrup is then added, which, through osmosis, penetrates the capillaries of the fruit peel, replacing the water and giving the product its characteristic texture and long shelf life. Our organic candied orange peel is an excellent addition to various baked goods, including Easter bread, fruit bread, Christmas stollen, gingerbread, Florentines, and other desserts.
Preparation
Our organic candied orange peel is a traditional ingredient in Christmas baked goods such as stollen and gingerbread. However, it can also be used to great effect in Easter and fruit breads, yeast plaits, fruit cakes and muffins. Even Florentines and various desserts such as cassata are given a special touch with our organic candied orange peel.
