Organic Maple Syrup grade A, amber colour rich taste12x250ml
Organic maple syrup is made from the sap of certain maple trees. Harvesting takes place in the spring, when the sap is replenishing the upper parts of the tree after a long winter. To ensure that the tree remains healthy and can provide its sweet sap for many years to come, only part of the sap is taken from trees that are already large enough. Immediately after harvesting, the sap is boiled down and then bottled. The resulting maple syrup is more liquid than honey and has a sweet taste with nutty, caramel-like, slightly bitter notes. The time of harvest influences the taste and colour of the syrup. Grade A is a light amber syrup with a mild aromatic flavor. It is ideal for topping our popular pancakes, but is also a great choice for sweetening baked goods, desserts, dressings and drinks.

Are organic sweeteners healthier than refined sugar?
Organic sweeteners such as date sugar, coconut blossom sugar, or agave syrup have several advantages over refined industrial sugar: they generally contain more nutrients, have a lower glycemic index, and therefore cause a smaller increase in blood sugar levels. Nevertheless, natural sweeteners should also be consumed in moderation, as they also contain calories.
How can I replace sugar in recipes with organic sweeteners?
The substitution ratios vary depending on the sweetener. Coconut blossom sugar can be substituted 1:1, while agave syrup or honey should be used in smaller quantities (approx. 2/3 of the specified amount of sugar) due to their higher sweetness. When using liquid sweeteners, the amount of liquid in the recipe should also be reduced accordingly.
Are your organic sweeteners suitable for diabetics?
Many of our organic sweeteners have a lower glycemic index than refined sugar and therefore cause a slower rise in blood sugar levels. However, they still contain carbohydrates and should only be used by diabetics in consultation with their doctor and in controlled amounts. Coconut blossom sugar in particular has a very low GI value.
