Carob gum is a flavourless, plant-based thickening agent derived from the seeds of the carob tree. It is naturally gluten-free. Remarkably, carob gum thickens without cooking, making it ideal for chilled desserts, cold soups, dips, and hot dishes such as soups, egg-free casseroles, and vegetable dishes.
Preparation
Thickener without cooking for chilled desserts, cold soups, and dips, as well as hot dishes like soups. Dosage: For cold dishes, mix 2 g (one level teaspoon) in 250 ml of liquid and let it sit briefly; for hot dishes, 1 g is sufficient.
