Every cup of Assam tea offers a full-bodied, strong taste that reflects the rich, fertile soil of Assam's tea gardens. This tea is characterised by its unmistakable malt aroma, which caresses the taste buds with its intensity and depth. There is also a sweet note reminiscent of honey. This sweetness gives the strong tea a pleasant complexity and balance that makes your tea time an exceptional flavour experience. Traditionally, this tea is enjoyed with Kluntjes (white rock candy) and Wulkje (a cloud of cream). First put the rock candy in a cup and enjoy the crackling sound when you pour the freshly brewed tea over it. Then add the cream to the tea. Real East Frisians enjoy their tea "unstirred".
Preparation
Pour boiling water over one heaped teaspoon per cup and let the tea steep for 3-5 minutes.
