Black pepper is undoubtedly the most famous of the many varieties of pepper. The green, unripe berries are picked and dried through fermentation in the sun until they are black. This process develops the flavour and characteristic heat. It is indispensable in our daily cooking and is excellent for enhancing the taste of vegetables, soups, sauces, marinades, salads, quickly fried and grilled dishes, goulash and pasta. No grinder at hand? You can also find finely ground pepper in our shop: black or white. Do you know where pepper grows? India, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Brazil are some of the typical growing countries.

Our organic extra virgin olive oil is produced using a purely mechanical process involving the cold-pressing of olives ripened in Greece. This creates a mild yet aromatic oil suitable for a wide variety of dishes. Olive oil is an essential ingredient in Mediterranean cuisine and is used to prepare many cold and hot dishes. It enhances the flavour of starters, salads, oven-baked vegetables, and boiled and stewed dishes from the Mediterranean and Oriental cuisines. It can also be used for gentle frying at temperatures up to 180 °C. Our olives are harvested in a bird-friendly manner, with no super-intensive night-time harvesting methods employed. Hand harvesting is used alongside small combs and shakers. Farmers take nests into consideration. They maintain and strengthen biodiversity in their fields.

We offer organic ceremonial-grade matcha of outstanding quality from the volcanic island of Jeju in South Korea. This exceptional product is made according to traditional Japanese methods. The tea plants are shaded prior to harvesting. This has a noticeable effect on the quality of the tea. The leaves develop fewer bitter compounds and more chlorophyll, caffeine, amino acids and the desired umami flavour. After careful harvesting, the leaves are stripped of their veins, sterilised with steam and dried immediately. They are then packaged professionally and stored until grinding. To preserve the tea's unique qualities, grinding is carried out in slow-running or cooled mills to prevent the powder from heating up. Enjoy this speciality traditionally whisked with a Chasen (a special matcha whisk), either on its own or as a matcha latte with milk or a plant-based alternative.
